Charles Mangelsdorf, a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away quietly and peacefully at his home on March 20th, 2014, after a long and debilitating illness. He left this world surrounded by the love of his family. He was 60 years old.

Charlie leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Theresa Mangelsdorf, his sons, Shane Mayforth, Charles Mangelsdorf Jr., Justin Pollack and Ryan Mangelsdorf, all of whom reside in Florida, as well as his son Danny Mangelsdorf of Hazlet, NJ and his daughter from Manahawkin, NJ, Dawn Hrudowsky, a brother, Roy Mangelsdorf of Florida, his granddaughter, Mariah Pollack, and his Chihuahua's , Harley and Minnie. He will be greatly missed.

Charlie was employed for many years by a man he looked up to and respected, Mr. Steve Blume, owner of Blume Mechanical. The years he spent there were filled with hard work, friendship and laughter. A heartfelt thanks to Steve Blume for all he did to enrich Charlie's life not only during his employment at his firm, but also during his illness, as well as after his death.

Charlie grew up in Little Ferry, a small town in New Jersey. The third of a family of 4 boys, he spent his younger years engulfed In baseball. The love of baseball followed him throughout his life. He moved to Florida in in the mid-eighties. He was introduced to his wife Theresa by mutual friends and a family was born. Charles had a son, Charlie Jr. age 6, and Theresa had 2 sons, Shane, age 8 and Justin, age 2 ½. A year later Theresa and Charlie added to their family with the birth of their 4th son, Ryan. This "yours, mine and ours" family somehow became one happy whole.

Charlie may not have been rich or famous but he was the type of man that is the backbone of this country.
He worked hard, loved hard, and was always willing to help others. He was honest, caring and loved to make people laugh. He was plain and simply a good man. He made mistakes, as we all do, in his younger years, for which he never forgave himself. He did, however, try to learn from them so that no one else would ever have to suffer from his mistakes.

Services will be held at Moss Feaster Funeral Home located at 693 S Belcher Rd, Clearwater, FL, on Saturday, April 5 at 1PM. Services will be followed by burial at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, 13401 Indian Rocks Rd., Largo, FL.
Please send donations to the family in lieu of flowers. All donations will be given to an organ transplant charity in Charlie's name.
