Charles Harold Nelson, 75, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Son of the late Harold and Helen Nelson, Chuck was born in Des Moines, IA on May 23, 1939. He earned his degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University in 1961, followed by his MBA in 1962 from The University of Iowa. Chuck worked for General Electric for 41 years until his retirement in June of 2003.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Howle Nelson, of Alpharetta, three daughters, Melinda Nelson of Johns Creek, GA, Sally Nelson of Nashville, TN, Susan Nelson Burkett, son-in-law Daniel Burkett, his two grandchildren, Jacob Charles and Hudson Daniel Burkett of Alpharetta, one niece, and many cousins and other family in Iowa.

The family is receiving guests from 5-7 pm on Friday, June 13, at Roswell Funeral Home at 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076. His funeral service has been arranged for Saturday, June 14, at 11 am at Roswell Presbyterian Church in the Historic Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Embracing Hospice Foundation at 5775 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd, Suite D580, Atlanta, GA 30342 or Roswell Presbyterian Church Mission Outreach Fund at 755 Mimosa Boulevard, Roswell, GA 30075.
