Charles Allen Reedy, age 64 of Streetsboro, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Maple Wood Care Centre after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born August 3, 1949, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Eldon Charles and Betty Jane (McCauslin) Reedy. Charles graduated from Ravenna High School and later from Kent State University. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Charles was a carrier for the Ravenna Post Office and a supervisor at the Aurora branch. He also worked as a corrections officer with the Portage County Sheriff's Department. Charles enjoyed the outdoors, working on word searches, and playing solitaire on his computer. But most of all, he was a devoted father and loving grandfather.

Charles is survived by his children: Scott (fiancé Melisa Cheney) Reedy of Garrettsville, Steven Reedy of Mukilteo, WA, and Nichole (Robert) Bacon of Streetsboro; as well as his brother Edward (Becky) Reedy, and his five grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Carnes and his parents.

Cremation has taken place, and friends will be received Friday, May 2, 2014, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, OH 44266.

"Dad, you were as much of a best friend to me as a father. We shared many fun times as well as hard times. You were always there for me and I for you. There..." Scot Reedy (Garrettsville, OH)
