Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Richter passed away peacefully at Parkside Nursing Home on July 8, 2012 at the age of 80. Chuck was born in Yakima to A.M. (Bud) & Pauline (Doan) Richter on August 21, 1931. Chuck met and married the love of his life, Mary Kramer. They were married on February 11, 1953, and had 59 wonderful years together. He served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Chuck was employed by H & H Meat Packing for 11 years as a mechanic. Later he worked for N.W. Bell, which later became Quest and retired after working for them for 10 years. Charles "Chuck" Richter passed away peacefully at Parkside Nursing Home on July 8, 2012 at the age of 80.

Chuck was born in Yakima to A.M. (Bud) & Pauline (Doan) Richter on August 21, 1931. Chuck met and married the love of his life, Mary Kramer. They were married on February 11, 1953, and had 59 wonderful years together.

He served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Chuck was employed by H & H Meat Packing for 11 years as a mechanic. Later he worked for N.W. Bell, which later became Quest and retired after working for them for 10 years. Chuck was a volunteer firefighter for the city of Union Gap for 30 years, and a member of the Yakima Valley Timberwolves Jeep Club for over 35 years.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Linda Apts (Phil) of Yakima; sons, Chris (Rebecca) of Naches and John (Lynn) of Union Gap; four loving grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother, James (Patsy) of Pasco; sisters, Grace Lester (Jack) of Kennewick and Pauline Slack of Walla Walla; and his faithful dog, Micky. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin sister Rosemary and a grandson Carl Apts.

The family would like to thank the staff of Parkside Nursing Home and a special thank you to Gaby, you were so good to "papa".

A viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday July 12, 2012 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Friday also at the funeral home, followed by burial in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
