Chuck served as Newsletter Editor for Birmingham Chapter Sons of the American Revolution for six years and did an excellent job. He cheerfully made deadlines even when copy was late and never complained. He was very proud that one of his ancestors fought for America's Freedom in 1776. He was one of the most unselfish men I have known and we all knew he walked with God. He was appreciated by his Compatriots and will be missed, but not forgotten.

I served on board USS Coral Sea CVA-43 1974-78 and only knew Chuck through the Cora Sea Association. He was one of the first Association members I met in Rockford, Illinois in April of 2003. Chuck really made me feel comfortable because I was very nervous meeting all the Coral Sea salts for the first time. Being from Tuscaloosa and He from Birmingham helped too! Chuck loved life and his fellow Sailors! I will really miss his emails and our time spent at reunions, reliving our time in the U.S. Navy! He is my Brother and I will miss him very much... Prayers to his family!
