Charles David Willis, Jr., 87, of Bassett, died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at his home. He was born in Birmingham, AL, August 20, 1928 to Charles David Willis, Sr. and Eloise Riser Willis, both deceased. At the time of his death, Mr. Willis had been employed at Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits Restaurant. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a recipient of both the Bronze Star and the Silver Star for Meritorious Achievement and Gallantry. In addition to his parents, Mr. Willis was preceded in death by a step-son, Barry Allen Cox. He is survived by his wife, Frances Howes Willis, two daughters, Stacey Willis...
Charles David Willis, Jr., 87, of Bassett, died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at his home. He was born in Birmingham, AL, August 20, 1928 to Charles David Willis, Sr. and Eloise Riser Willis, both deceased.

At the time of his death, Mr. Willis had been employed at Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits Restaurant. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a recipient of both the Bronze Star and the Silver Star for Meritorious Achievement and Gallantry.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Willis was preceded in death by a step-son, Barry Allen Cox. He is survived by his wife, Frances Howes Willis, two daughters, Stacey Willis of Bassett and Debra Owens of Dothan , AL, three step- sons, and a sister, Elaine Woods of AL. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, December, 24, 2015 at 11:00AM at Sanville Assembly of God with Pastor Malcom Anthony officiating.

Military rites will be presented by The Veteran's Honor Guard of Martinsville/Henry County.

The family suggests memorials be made to The Salvation Army, 603 S. Memorial Blvd. Martinsville VA 24112 or to The Sanville Assembly of God, 40 Joyce Rd., Bassett, VA 24055.
