Charlie Dolezel, 94, of Eddy, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in Waco. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, August 18, 2014 at Mooreville United Methodist Church with the Reverend Lynn Starnes officiating. Interment will follow in Mooreville Cemetery with military honors provide by Fort Hood Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, on Sunday, August 17th at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin.
Mr. Dolezel was born on March 12, 1920 in Malone, Texas to Joseph and Mary (Olis) Dolezel. He served his country in the United States Army during WW II and was the recipient of 3 Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. He married Alma Baugh on May 27, 1956 in Marlin and they celebrated over 57 wonderful years together before her death on December 1, 2013. After he returned from the Army he farmed and ranched in the Eddy area. Mr. Dolezel was a very active member of Falls County Farm Bureau where he served as President in 1968 – 1969 and 1971 – 1974 and was a former board member of the Eddy Coop Gin. He loved to fish, especially salt water, cooking beans for all different functions but his true love was his grandchildren. Mr. Dolezel was an active member of Mooreville United Church where he served on various committees.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; granddaughter, Sara Bland; and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his daughters, Elsie Beseda and her husband, Henry and Dorothy Prince and her husband, Mitchell; son, Robert Dolezel; brothers, Edd Dolezel and Raymond Dolezel; sister, Victoria Smallwood; grandchildren, Fallon Jones, Ashley Dolezel, Matthew Beseda, Ryan Beseda and Jeffrey Beseda.
Memorials may be made to the Mooreville Cemetery Association at 263 CR 499A, Chilton, Texas 76632.
