Walker, Charlotte C. "Charlie," 88, of Tempe, Arizona passed away on January 5, 2018. Charlie was born on December 3, 1929 in Hollywood, California. She married the love of her life, Wally Walker, on August 24, 1947 and they had 66 years together before he passed in 2013. They had five children together and she is survived by Richard Walker, Randy Walker and his wife Paula, Marc Walker and his wife Pat, and her son-in-law Bob Hawn, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren with another that is to be born this February, and one sister, Sandy Barnes of California. Charlie's two daughters, Cheryl Hawn and Kim Padgett preceded her in death.
Charlie worked at Motorola for many years as an Electronics Technician and retired to enjoy life with Wally and her grandchildren. Wally and Charlie traveled all over the world and once took a "round the world cruise." They also traveled all over the USA with good friends in the "Happy Campers." Charlie was a gifted photographer, donated her time for many years recording books for the blind, and was editor of the newspaper at Sunland Village East as well as serving on the Board of Directors. Charlie played the piano and organ and loved to sing, and we will never forget all the Christmas Eve gatherings where we would all sing Christmas Carols with her. She was a private person but those close to her knew how deep her love was for her family and friends. She never lost her quick wit and sense of humor and we will all deeply miss her. There will be no memorial service per her request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Charlie's honor to Hospice of the Valley. Condolences may be left on Charlie's online guestbook at www.greenacrescemetary.net.
