Charlotte and Russ were both great neighbors. I never saw Charlotte without a smile on her face. Her positivity and kindness were both contagious. She will be missed by many! Chris, Jennifer, Jacob, and Alyssa Vogel

I will greatly miss my phone conversations and rare visits with Cousin Charlotte. She exuded a cheerfulness and contentment that was contagious. She was certainly one of a kind, and those of us who knew her were fortunate to have her positive force in our lives for so many years.

Many thanks to family members for the wonderful photo gallery, and especially for the Koch family reunion photo from 1933 that brought back memories of my grandparents, parents, sibling, aunts, uncles and cousins, now gone.

Julie and I send our most sincere condolences to the friends and family who treasured this extraordinary woman.

Aunt Charlotte had a way about her with hospitality. A "drop in" was treated as a special guest. She just made everyone feel valued and special. Things I will remember always: Her smile that lit up a room, the delight on her face when she added a special food item to the table, her eyebrows going up and her head dip when she was thinking something and not saying it, asking me to help in the kitchen when I knew NOTHING about the kitchen. Her cheerful happy face. We will all miss you!!

Aunt Charlotte was more than an Aunt to me and my family. She was a stand in Mother, Grandmother and Mother-in-law. I will always remember with love our "laundry days" together. I laughed and cried when she told her stories of her life. It's hard to remember I can't pick up the phone to tell or hear the latest. We love you and will miss you so much.

Dear Aunt Charlotte: I will miss your "how are you tonight" phone greeting when you called me. You were like a mother to me and Wendell during these last few years while my real mom has been gone. Give Mom a big huge for me and tell her I miss her. Love, Lora

Charlotte was the clerk when we worked together on the election for quite a few years, and she would always bring me a applesauce donut, that was my treat. I was so proud of her --she came in every election and we would talk, after she voted. just saw her in May, will miss her in November. Loved the write up they gave her in newspaper a few months ago, of her service days. I will let the other election "girls" that worked with her know.

I've been browsing through Aunt Charlotte's letters. I found one in which she urged me to make sure that my students learned their history, but it was Aunt Charlotte who helped to teach me the real value of the past. She had a beautiful spirit, and I will miss her.
