Charlotte Louise Chembars, 92, of Brighton Township, formerly a resident of Monaca, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, while under the compassionate care of the staff at Hearts 2gether Homes, Beaver Falls.
Charlotte was born May 27, 1924, in Rochester, daughter of the late Gail and Naomi (Seigh) Gamble. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Charlotte was affectionately known as "Grambo" because of her strong and tenacious spirit. She was a woman of faith and member of the Monacrest Free Methodist Church, Monaca.
She was an artistic ceramic crafter. Charlotte was a member of her neighborhood card club for many years. The group became so close they often traveled together on vacations. Charlotte was a top producing seller of AVON and received numerous gifts, awards and trips. Her garage was a literal warehouse of products. She would enlist the services of her grandson Don in packaging and delivering. The love for her family was first and foremost in her life. Grambo lovingly knitted afghans for members of her family that will always be cherished as an heirloom.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Ronald O. "Rudy" Chembars, August 28, 2011; two sons, Ronald L. Chembars and Richard L. Chembars, Sr. and her sister, Lucille.
Charlotte is survived by three grandchildren and spouses, Richard (Jackie) Chembars, Mechanicsville, Md.; Donald (Kim) Chembars, Brighton Township, and Michael (Htwe) Chembars, San Antonio, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Kati and husband Aaron, Richie and wife Amanda, Amber, Jessica and husband Chris, and Staci and Michael; five great-great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Sarah H. Chembars, Littlestown, Pa. and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday, November 29, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park) and on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Doug Rabe will officiate her service. Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
Don and Kim Chembars would like to express special thanks to Betty Butera and her caring family and staff of Heart 2 Heart and Hearts 2gether Homes for the kind and compassionate care of "Grambo". Additional thank you to Dr. David Vasil and his staff with Heritage Hospice for their compassionate care.
