Charlotte Ann Sullins Acebo, born in Houston, Texas on the 5th of January 1942, passed away peacefully at her home in Houston on Wednesday, the 25th of April 2012, at the age of 70.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend to many. Charlotte was a graduate of Sam Houston State University and was proud to have been a high school Journalism and English teacher for 31 years, 17 of those at Huntsville High School. Upon her retirement in 1999, Charlotte became a full-time grandmother, her most passionate and beloved role in life. One of her greatest joys was her family and family gatherings, which she enjoyed along with her lifelong passions of cooking great food, writing, reading, and, not to be forgotten- her Houston Rockets.

Her strength, passion, love, caring, will, and stubbornness profoundly touched all those she encountered and words cannot express the impact she had on her family and everyone around her.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her father and mother, Joe Horace and Virginia Sullins; brother, Joe Sullins Jr.; and niece, Michelle Nelson.

Charlotte was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her surviving family members; daughter, Debbie Acebo and son-in-law, Wendel Skolaski daughter, Denise Acebo Hansen and son-in-law, Steve Hansen; grandsons, Parker Williams and Tanner Hansen; step-grandchildren, Robert and Scott Skolaski and Kristen Lounder; sister, Martha Weidenheft; nephews, Michael Nelson, Matthew Sullins, Hank Sullins and Sam Sullins; niece, Sarah Sullins; and countless other family, loved ones, friends, and former students.

The family wishes to acknowledge the love, support and caring friendship given to Charlotte by Ginni Ecklund, Kay Renger, Charlie and Gail Acebo, and Jessica Bogan.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six until eight o'clock in the evening on Friday, the 27th of April, in the Library and Grand Foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

The funeral service is to be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 28th of April, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions in Charlotte's name may directed to the charity of one's choice.

"Charlotte and I were classmates at Southmayd Elementary School (1948- 1954). She sat in the desk immediately in front of me and I got caught pulling her..."
