Obituary

Charlotte Hill Lynch joined her beloved husband in Heaven, July 4, 2014, on what would have been his 94th birthday. Charlotte was born on August 23, 1922 to Don Leroy and Flora Hill. An adventurous woman, Charlotte worked in New York City during World War II on the Manhattan Project, subsequently serving in Alberta, Canada, and eventually ending up in Honolulu where she met her future husband, Marine Lt. Colonel William Lynch, on a blind date. They enjoyed a lovely 62 years together enjoying world-wide travel, grandchildren, and each other until his death in 2008. Charlotte Hill Lynch joined her beloved husband in Heaven, July 4, 2014, on what would have been his 94th birthday. Charlotte was born on August 23, 1922 to Don Leroy and Flora Hill. An adventurous woman, Charlotte worked in New York City during World War II on the Manhattan Project, subsequently serving in Alberta, Canada, and eventually ending up in Honolulu where she met her future husband, Marine Lt. Colonel William Lynch, on a blind date. They enjoyed a lovely 62 years together enjoying world-wide travel, grandchildren, and each other until his death in 2008. After moving to Jacksonville in the late 1950's, Charlotte retired from State Farm Insurance Company after 23 years. Charlotte is survived by her children Celeste Lynch, formerly of Jacksonville, now living in Chicago, IL and Carter Hill Lynch (Debra) of Jacksonville Beach; grandchildren Abby Williams Lynch and Dylan Charles Lynch; and beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Oaklawn Chapel & Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Boulevard, at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
Donations in memory of Charlotte Hill Lynch may be sent to the City Rescue Mission, 426 S. McDuff Avenue, Jacksonville, 32254.
