Chee Lee Wall Monds, secure in her faith, went peacefully to her heavenly home Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the age of 100. She was a resident of Pelican Bay Assisted Living Community in Beaumont, TX.
She was a long time employee of Jefferson County where she worked at the Court House as head of the Printing Department. After retirement, she moved back to her hometown of Kirbyville, TX. Wanting to be an active part of the community, she entered and won the Ms. Senior Kirbyville pageant, and went on to win the Ms. Texas Senior America pageant in1988 held in Beaumont, TX.
Chee Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert Winston Wall, and her second husband of 11 years, Joe Monds; her parents, Timothy and Amanda Hawthorne; her sisters, Estell, Sybil, Mickey, and Versi Noy, her brothers, James and J. T. ; and grandson, Craig Courville.
Chee Lee is survived by her 3 children - daughter, Erie Jane Wall Courville of Beaumont, TX, son, Robert Ford Wall and his wife Betty of Pearland, TX, and stepdaughter Lee Ann Monds Powell and her husband Brent of Houston, TX; 3 grandchildren - Caran Courville Lindsey and her husband William, Allison Courville Harmon, and stepgrandson David Powell; 6 greatgrandchildren - Garrett and Clayton Lindsey, Hannah and Hayden Harmon, and Amanda and Daniel Courville. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Retha Wall Stockholm and numerous nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you to the staff at Pelican Bay Assisted Living Community, especially the Memory Care Unit. We are grateful for the compassionate care, love and respect our Mother received.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Beaumont.
