Mrs. Christine Marie White, age 96, formerly of Rome, died at a health care facility in Carrollton, GA Thursday July 3, 2014.

Mrs. White was born in Floyd County January 24, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Claude D. Worthington and Dora L. Fricks Worthington. She was also preceded in death by one sister; Ollie Blalock and two brothers; Charlie Worthington and Claude (Buddy) Worthington.

Mrs. White was retired from Floyd Medical Center after many years of service as a Unit Secretary. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She loved crocheting, knitting, crafts, pottery and antiquing. She was dearly loved. She loved her family, and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include two sons; Chris White and his wife Julie of Bowden and Allen White of Rome, four grandchildren; Shelley Leopard and her husband Rod of Springville, Ala., Mark White of Armuchee, Tara Metcalf and her husband Todd of Summerville, and Shannon Grates and her husband Todd of Dunwoody, three great grandchildren; Wil and his wife Katie of Birmingham, Lynsey Leopard of Springville, Ala., and Rhett Metcalf of Summerville, one sister; Ruth Berry of Columbus, GA., and one brother; Andy Worthington of Arkansas. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family received friends Monday July 7, 2014 at Daniel's Funeral Home from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. The family then proceeded to Myrtle Hill Cemetery for a 1:30 pm graveside service.

Those serving as pallbearers were; Allen White, Chris White, Rod Leopard, Wil Leopard, Todd Grates, and Todd Metcalf. Honorary pallbearers are; Mark White and Rhett Metcalf.

Daniel's Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.

Mrs. White was a dear friend on mind back from the Glenwood Apt days days. One of the sweetest ladies I have ever known.
