On Sunday, May 14, Christopher William Tate passed away from complications related to kidney cancer. Born on January 23, 1949 to the late Herbert A. and Bette L. Tate, he is survived by his two sons, Nicholas and Weston. From March 1969 to October 1970, Chris completed a tour of duty in the Vietnam War with the US Army, Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment. He was well-decorated for his service, including two Bronze Stars, the Soldier's Medal, and the Purple Heart, in addition to other medals. Upon returning from active duty, he resided in Santa Cruz, where he completed an Associate in Science at Cabrillo College. With his life-long love of automobiles, he helped found the Santa Cruz Streetsters. From his home in Sacramento, he continued, until his passing, to work on his collection of classic automobiles. In honor of his service, Chris will be interred at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. Family and friends are invited to a Graveside Service on Thursday, May 25th, 2017 at 2:00pm at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California.

The loss of someone so close is difficult to bear. We share your grief. Chris worked at CFM from 1999 until retiring in 2015. We could always depend on him and enjoyed his stories of camping trips, family, and working on his cars. Our condolences,
