Surrounded by his loving family, Christopher James Solario, Sr. went to be with His Lord on the 10th, March, 2014. Born Dec. 28, 1965 in San Jose, CA to Benny and Carmen Solario, Chris was the baby in a family of seven siblings.

In the early 1970's the family moved to Hanford where Chris grew up and attended local schools and Hanford High. He was a basketball champion in junior high with records that still stand. He was also active in Boy Scouts where he loved camping and learning about knots and arrows-skills he passed on to his own sons.

As a child, his family often travelled to visit family in the Bay area, went camping, visited Yosemite and the Sequoias. He also enjoyed many trips to the coast and fishing, which he also taught his sons, along with crabbing and frogging.

Chris was all about family and it was very important to him. He and Carol were together 16 years and had four children: Chris Jr., Moses, Destiny and Zachairy. After they separated, Chris met Cora and they were together for the last 16 years. They have two children, Jacob and Serenity. Chris brought the family together. They all attend events, holidays and special occasions together, and share lots of love for each other.

All four sons share the same middle name, Chris's middle name James. Chris also made sure Zachairy's name ended in –airy. He wanted to make sure the word air was in it for Air Jordan!

Chris was very involved in his children's lives, attending all his sons' football and basketball games. He encouraged and deeply loved all his children and was very proud of and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

He was a very giving and loving man. If any kid came to him in need of a place to stay, a meal or a few dollars, Chris would provide it.

In 2000, in his mid-30's, Chris was saved and began his walk with the Lord. He had a strong faith and shared it, planting seeds of faith in his family. Cora says that Chris bringing her to the Lord was one of the greatest gifts he gave her.

Chris was known for some interesting hobbies and talents. He was a diehard Raiders and Lakers fan. Bo Jackson and Shaquille O'Neal were his all time favorite players.

Chris was well known for his excellent barbequing and his special marinades for beef.

He loved to dress up for Halloween. His Jack Sparrow costume is a special memory for the family. He is also remembered for his 80's gear and his heavy use of cologne.

For over 30 years, Chris supported his family with his painting business. He also trained his sons and Cora as painters.

Chris and his family have been very active at the Armona United Methodist Church. Chris has been on the board of trustees, taught in the Sunday School, served at the weekly Pancake breakfast, and handled numerous repairs and maintenance. Last year he set ladders up the side and across the roof to climb up and fix the bell which had flipped. Since then he was very proud to be the bell ringer each Sunday, announcing the beginning of service.

Chris is survived by his wife Cora, ex-spouse Carol, four brothers, one sister, four sons, two daughters, two grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and his dogs, Toby and Coco. He was well-loved by his family, church family and the community. He will be dearly missed.

A Visitation will be held from 11:00 - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014 with a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. all at the Armona United Methodist Church; 14013 Hanford-Armona Road, Armona, CA 93202.
