I'm so sorry to hear of Crystal's passing. We were young when I had the good fortune to know her. I remember her as one of the sweetest people you could ever know. She always had a smile on her face and that's how I will remember her. I'm sure that you have many wonderful memories that will help sustain you as you deal with life's challenges ahead. Keeping you in our prayers.

Our Grandma Crissy will always hold a special place in our heart. She has been the rock of the family for a long time. Always being in the center of what I refer to as home. She was the stable piece of a chaotic journey of life. We will always be thankful for her reliability and love. I am told she prayed daily for her family, calling each by name. We are thankful and blessed. She will be missed.

Recalling the days when my Mom & I would get our hair done @ Crystals Beauty Shop & her having such a sweet personality. Then years later , her coming to the same church as I was attending and having that same sweet Christ-like personality. It will be sad to see her empty spot in church.

On April 23, we said goodbye to my 93 year old maternal grandmother. She was a true matriarchal Wonder Woman of our family. The epitome of the definition of grandmother. I was blessed to be her 1st grandchild born when she was only 44, and she lived to be my last living grandparent. As her oldest grandchild I had a long time to study how she lived, worked, retired; how she served her family and community and most of all served her unyielding faith in God. She always had a sense of fun for a good laugh, a stubborn streak that even showed as a young woman. She eloped with her love (my grandfather) against family permission with her older sister in hot pursuit over the state line to stop them all too late. I learned of Victory gardens and rations in WW2 from her stories. I recognize climate change is real because of the stories of what weather used to be like in our home region when she was a younger woman. Most importantly by watching her I learned how to face adversity and fear--because they surely they will come to us all. They must be faced with truth, love, commitment to your family, because in turn they will lift you up. Most importantly a faith and belief in something bigger and better than this earthly realm--God. Any situation can be weathered with faith, love and support of family/friends, and a touch of stubbornness to never yield. I'm sure there is not one family member who can say their life would have ever been the same without her influence. Thank you Annie Chrystal Tilley Joyce. I'm hoping now the Baltimore Orioles will have their best season ever--because their biggest fan is on the other side pulling some strings! Greg Foley (grandson)
