Loving friend, husband, father, and grandfather, age 65, passed away on April 3rd, 2013 in Anaheim Regional Medical Center. He was born in Saigon, Vietnam, August 15, 1948 to Chu Van Kieu and Nguyen Thi Mien. Thu was father to Linda Chu and Robert Chu and also had grandchildren. He was brother to Loi, Loc, Tho, Thong, Vinh, Dung, and Hai. Thu served in the South Vietnam Air Force as a Jet Fighter Pilot where he fought in the Vietnam War. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a Masters Degree in Engineering and begun a successful career in Engineering. Louisiana is where Thu also started his family and then later moved to California. Thu was active in the Vietnamese Community and loved traveling and tennis among other things. From the words of Thu's American sponsors and dear friends who have known Thu since 1968, Bob and Beth Robertson, "Thu was truly a kind and loving man who always lived life to the fullest. He came to this country with nothing more than a little money in his pocket and is a true example of an American success story. He lived the American dream. He will truly be missed and remembered by all he touched."
