Dr. Wang was my teacher and friend. As a student he shared with me not only mathematics but more importantly the happiness that the births of his children meant to him. As a friend I remember the many conversations we had on his walks home from the campus. Mind you I used to kid him about being overdressed in the summer. He also shared with me as a mathematics teacher his children as students completing the cycle. Sincere condolences.

Dear Mrs. Wang and Family,
I am deeply saddened to learn Professor Wang passed away. As one of his students, I am very luck to have had chances learning from him. He was an excellent supervisor, a good friend and a great mentor.
I still remember the happy time we spent together when he was visiting my university in China as an invited scholar. As his teaching assistant during that period of time, it was my first time to learn from him and his research areas. It was a very exciting learning experience for me and it changed my life.
Studying at University of Regina under his supervision was one of my happiest times in my life. Almost every afternoon, we had a cup of tea together and he always brought snacks for everyone. We discussed our research topics and ideas during the tea time. He made learning mathematics full of funs.
I will never forget the happy time we shared. Please accept my sincere condolences to you and your family.

We are grateful to have shared many family moments with Gong-gong. We remember him standing proudly with his children at their weddings, shepherding his grandchildren on outings, sharing meals in Chinese restaurants, and walking daily to the market to buy his vegetables. Our condolences to Caroline, Carol, Brian and Alvin and their families. We hope for our grandchildren that, as they grow, they will come to know more about Gong-gong's history and accomplishments.
