Claire Geraldine Rivard, 84, peacefully passed away with her family by her side at Villa Crest Nursing Home in Manchester on February 23, 2014. Claire was born on September 17, 1929 to Omer and Odila Janelle. Claire met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Rivard at Manchester West High School. Claire and Bob married on May 10, 1952 when Bob returned from serving in the U.S. Army. Claire and Bob raised their family in Manchester where Claire worked in banking when she wasn't raising her beloved children. Claire was a devoted mother. She was involved in Cub Scouts as a Den Mother. She did all kinds of crafts including knitting and...
Claire Geraldine Rivard, 84, peacefully passed away with her family by her side at Villa Crest Nursing Home in Manchester on February 23, 2014.

Claire was born on September 17, 1929 to Omer and Odila Janelle. Claire met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Rivard at Manchester West High School. Claire and Bob married on May 10, 1952 when Bob returned from serving in the U.S. Army.

Claire and Bob raised their family in Manchester where Claire worked in banking when she wasn't raising her beloved children. Claire was a devoted mother. She was involved in Cub Scouts as a Den Mother. She did all kinds of crafts including knitting and making costumes for the kids and lots of baking. Claire used her wonderful sense of humor to help make the best of every situation.

After raising her children, Claire enjoyed many wonderful years filled with ballroom dancing and traveling with her husband. Claire loved her family and always felt blessed by the life she led.

She was pre deceased by her brothers Andy and Jerome Janelle and by her sisters Lou LaRose, Irene Tetu and Angie Johnson.

Claire is survived by her husband, Robert Rivard; her son David of Penacook, NH; her son Dennis and his wife, Louise of Hooksett; her son Daniel and his wife, Sharon of Hopkinton, NH; her daughter Michelle Rivard and her partner, Norman Champagne of Weare, NH; her grandson, Christopher Rivard and his wife Kathleen of Essex Junction, VT; her granddaughter, Danielle and her husband Jason Guinnesso of Londonderry, NH; her granddaughter Miranda Rivard of Manchester, NH; and her granddaughter Emily Rivard Quinn of Manchester, NH. Claire is also survived by two great granddaughters, Arianna and Ellie, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering was held Thursday from 4 to 7 pm in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. A Memorial Service was held Friday at 11 AM in the Funeral Home. Urn burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Claire's name to the , 5 Bedford Farms Dr. #201, Bedford NH 03110.
