Clarence Edward "Ed" Berrio - March 26, 1936 - February 22, 2013 Clarence Edward "Ed" Berrio, a Houston resident for 46 years, passed away at the age of 76, on Friday, February 22, 2013, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born in Port Arthur, TX on Thursday, March 26, 1936, the only child of Edward Holden Berrio and Blanche (Reneer) Berrio. Clarence Edward "Ed" Berrio - March 26, 1936 - February 22, 2013

Clarence Edward "Ed" Berrio, a Houston resident for 46 years, passed away at the age of 76, on Friday, February 22, 2013, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born in Port Arthur, TX on Thursday, March 26, 1936, the only child of Edward Holden Berrio and Blanche (Reneer) Berrio. Ed attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, TX and graduated from Schreiner Institute in Kerrville, TX. He attended the University of Texas and graduated from Lamar University with a degree in business. He was employed by Wilson Supply Company that included an overseas assignment in Tripoli, Libya; Intermarine Services (Global Marine); Oilworld Services (Mitchell Energy) and retired in 1992. Ed organized and operated Nations Supply Co, Inc. and retired a second time in 1995.

Ed was a longtime member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston. He was a 50 plus year member of Port Arthur Masonic Lodge #1264 A.F. & A.M., was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and involved in the Arabia Temple Shrine in Houston. He was a member of the York Rite Commandry #111 in West Columbia, TX, the Knights Temple and received his Super Excellent Master degree, also in West Columbia.

Ed's professional organizations include: Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Brazoria County Cattleman Association, Brazoria County - FEMA Committee, Brazoria County Urban Rancher and IOADC – Houston, Texas.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 49 ½ years, Ann Shelton Berrio, whom he met in Corpus Christi, TX and married in 1963. Their marriage was blessed with two children who also survive him, son, Jason Edward Berrio and wife Cindy of Lake Jackson, TX; daughter, Phyllis Berrio Sliva and husband Jeff of Wharton, TX and his much loved grandchildren, Austin Berrio of Lake Jackson and 3 year old twins, Zoe and Zachary Sliva.

Funeral services with a Masonic committal under the auspices of Port Arthur Masonic Lodge #1264 A.F. & A.M. will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 25th in the Resurrection Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Highway, Groves, TX 77619, (409) 962-8448.

A Celebration of Ed's life will be held in the sanctuary of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay in Houston, at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26th with Rev. Wick Stuckey and Christian Washington officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed's name may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
