Clarice A. Cummins, age 93, of Hayward, WI passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Golden Living-Valley of Hayward, Nursing Home.
Clarice Adair Stafford was born December 13, 1920 in Eau Claire, WI the daughter of Stanford and Lucille Stafford. She moved with her family to Dixon, IL where she attended high school. Shortly after graduation she was joined in marriage to Victor Bally. Clarice enjoyed writing poems and had several of her writings published in different magazines. One of her poems was also made into a play. Besides writing she enjoyed painting, making dolls and studying genealogy. In the early 1950's Clarice was joined in marriage to Wendell Harris. Clarice and Wendell were married for 24 years before his passing in 1992. On November 6, 1993 Clarice was married to Harold Cummins in Trego, WI.
Clarice is survived by her three children, Lynne Schriner of Hayward, Carol Bond of Aurora, IL, Wendell Harris Jr. of Toluca, IL; one stepson, Donald Cummins of Indiana; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her three husbands; two sisters, June Mangan, Juanita Lybarger; one brother, Edward Stafford; and one grandson.
A funeral service for Clarice will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, at First Lutheran Church in Hayward. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Earl Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Ryan Schriner, Ray Austin, Wendell "Kip" Harris, Carl Howardson and Rich Gary.
