Clark Gentry Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 21, 2017.

Clark Gail Gentry of Nacogdoches passed away in the early morning hours of January 21, 2017, at Nacogdoches Medical Center at the age of 81 years, 4 months, and 17 days.

Clark was born September 4, 1935, in Kinta, Oklahoma and raised in Dallas, Texas by parents Ernest and Bernice (Spring) Pollard.

Mr. Gentry was a loyal employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield, retiring after 42 years with the company. He was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed creating his own crosses and other mementos in his spare time. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed softball and hunting. He also tried to travel as often as he could with his loving wife of 34 years, Ann Gentry.

Clark was proud of his Native American heritage. He was a member of the Choctaw Nation, and he would even carry a card with him showing proof of his ancestry.

Mr. Gentry is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hubert Pollard; and many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ann Gentry; sons, Clark Gentry, Jr. and wife Lawanda of New Mexico and Roy Hopkins and wife Nicole of Rockwall; daughter, Angela Rehmet of Nacogdoches; grandsons, Matt Gentry of New Mexico and Griffin Hopkins of Rockwall; granddaughter, Kelley Rehmet of Nacogdoches; two great grandsons; and many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017, at First Baptist Church Chapel, 411 North Street, Nacogdoches. The service will be officiated by Bro. Mark Simmons.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, TX 75701.
