Claton William Conner, 90, left this world at his home on Fairview Ave. south of Fruitland on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. A service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 28th at West Valley Free Methodist Church, Fruitland. Burial will follow at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. Cremation and services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland. Condolences may be made to Claton's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com.

Claton was born in the winter of 1923 to Stephen J. and Helen Marie Conner of Burwell, NE. He moved with his family to Idaho during WWII following the depression and the dust bowl. The promise of better opportunities and homestead property in Idaho prompted the move. Once here Claton helped his family work the new homestead while working on several area farms and outside jobs to help support the family.

Claton worked hard all of his life and asked little in return. Carving out his little piece of paradise right up to shortly before his passing; it is a special paradise called home for the whole family.

Claton is survived by a brother, Laverne Conner of Quincy, WA; two sisters, Alta Southwell and Anna Rickard both of Portland, OR; plus numerous nieces and nephews. He now rests with his family that passed before him, his parents Stephen and Helen; five brothers, Henry, Calvin, Stanley, Joseph and Philip
Conner.

To honor Claton's memory, memorials may be made to West Valley Free Methodist Church, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
