Claud Edward Bird, age 88, of Cocoa, went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2015, at the Rockledge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Claud lived in Cocoa for fifty years and came from Colorado in 1965. He was the son of the late Homer E. Bird and Elimina Michael Hansen. He was born on December 7, 1926 in Independence, Missouri.
He is survived by four sons: Kurtis E. Bird (Linda) of Cocoa; Dwight A. Bird (Debra) of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Rick G.
Bird (Pam) of Cocoa, and Kevin C. Bird (Glenna) of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Brother Roger Bird of Ware Shoals, South Carolina.
Claud has 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Rockledge Christian Center and the Gideons International. He retired from Allied Signal as a
Mechanical and air conditioning engineer. He had a small ranch in Grand Junction, Colorado. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Claud was a very kind and gentle soul and had a loving generous heart and loved being with the family. He is reunited with his wife
Vera Jean Bird in heaven, who just passed away on April 13, 2015 three days earlier. They are rejoicing together in their new bodies.
There will be a Visitation on Monday morning, April 20th from 10:00am -12:00pm at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home, 5475 N. U.S. Highway #1 in Cocoa and Entombment will follow.

Uncle Claud - what a great example of undying love and commitment! We all knew you wouldn't leave Aunt Jean here without you! 70 years was a long time!!
