Clayton E. Goldsmith, aged 96, passed away at home on August 15, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Florence, brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Barbara Goldsmith, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Casey and Roberta VandenBroek, brother-in-law, Burt DeVos, and Nephew, Larry DeVos. Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Virginia, daughter, Barb (Bill) Proos, grandson, Tim (Barb) Proos, granddaughter, Julie Aben, great–grandchildren, Ashley Morgan, Cassie Aben, Valerie Aben, Clayton J. Clayton E. Goldsmith, aged 96, passed away at home on August 15, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Florence, brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Barbara Goldsmith, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Casey and Roberta VandenBroek, brother-in-law, Burt DeVos, and Nephew, Larry DeVos. Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Virginia, daughter, Barb (Bill) Proos, grandson, Tim (Barb) Proos, granddaughter, Julie Aben, great–grandchildren, Ashley Morgan, Cassie Aben, Valerie Aben, Clayton J. Aben, and their father, Mark Aben. Also surviving are brother-in-law Wes (Margaret) VandenBroek, sister-in-law, Eloise DeVos, many nieces, nephews, and many special friends. Clayton was the longtime owner of Lampens' Bike Shop, and enjoyed traveling with his wife Virginia. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but most of all enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and playing golf. Clayton and Virginia were longtime members of both Greenridge and Egypt Valley Country Clubs. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Aberdeen Reformed Church. Friends and relatives may greet his family for visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Reyers North Valley Chapel, and from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, prior to the service at church.
