Clifford was born and raised in Flushing, N.Y. After high school graduation, he proudly served in the Marine Corps, followed by graduation from New York University. He lived in New Jersey for many years, raising his children and working in the advertising and public-relations fields.

After moving to Cape Cod and marrying Kim, Clifford worked in the health care field until retirement. Cliff's last years were spent traveling, enjoying the Cape, and his great passion, riding his motorcycle.
