Clyde Hoke "Toby" Huffman, 85 of Conover passed away quietly on Friday, January 5, 2018. He was born to the late Walter Clyde and Mary Hoke Huffman on April 28, 1932 in Catawba County.
Toby retired as a pattern maker and new product designer from Leathercraft Furniture Inc. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Claremont and was a United States Air Force Veteran who served honorably during the Korean conflict.
Toby is survived by his wife of 61 years, Loretta Yount Huffman whom he married on October 27, 1956. Additional survivors include a sister Jackie H. Devlin and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 1:15 to 2:15pm at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church 3180 W Main St, Claremont, NC 28610 with a funeral service to follow at 2:30pm with Pastor Jason Sigmon officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Cemetery Trust Fund at P.O. Box 579 Claremont, NC 28610 or Catawba Valley Hospice House at 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658.
