HICKORY – Clyde Lincoln Lail, 90, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Trinity Village after a brief illness. Clyde was born on February 11, 1927 in Alexander County to the late Curvie P. and Carrie Flowers Lail. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Wilma Eckard Lail and a number of brothers and sisters. Clyde was a Navy veteran of WWII, he was retired founder, co-owner, operator and Chairman of the Board of Studio Q Furniture, and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Clyde was named Catawba County Small Business Person of the Year in 1990. Clyde served on numerous committees of Good Hope Lutheran Church including Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Church Council member and President of the Congregation. He also served on the Board of NC Lutheran Services for the Aging for a number of years. Surviving are his daughter, Rebecca L. Carter of Hickory, two sons, Gary Neil Lail and wife Susan of Granite Falls, and David Clyde Lail and wife Cathy of Hickory, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister Hazel Lail Hubbard of Bethlehem and a brother Jack C. Lail of Asheboro. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Catawba Memorial Park with Military Honors by American Legion Post 48. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 547 6th Street NW, Hickory, N.C. 28601 with the Reverend Richard Graf officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 9580, Hickory, N.C. 28603-9580.
