Born in Belmont, MA, on October 4, 1918, he was the son of the late, Harold and Bertha (Mullen) Wilber.
He grew up in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School with the class of 1936. He then attended Boston University.

He proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII as a Staff Sgt, and was assigned in the United States and then in the Pacific on Guam.

On November 22, 1942, he married Doris Mickalsen.

After discharge from the army he and his family moved to Concord where he started out working for Adams glass company. Soon he opened CEWilber Company on the corner of South St. and Clinton. He later built the company so there were 3 stores, in Concord and one in Durham. His stores joined the American hardware store chains. He later became treasurer then vice president of American Hardware Stores (later to become Servistar). He loved the hardware business and was ready and willing to help anyone and everyone. He retired at the age of 75.

While working, he was active in the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and the Masons. He ran for public office and became an alderman for one term. He loved Concord and was most interested in making it a great place to live and work.

He and his family are one of the original members of Wesley Methodist church.

Clyde loved life and has always been known for his great sense of humor and until the very end he still could make people laugh. His family is very important to him and loved being able to get together with them. There were many family gatherings at the summer camp he built on Sandogardy Pond in Northfield.

For many years, he and Doris wintered in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, FL. They loved to travel and visited all over the United States as well as many parts of the world including Australia, the South Seas, South America, Europe and Scandinavia.
