Constantinos Limas, MD, passed away on July 21, 2014. He was born in Greece in 1942 and obtained an MD degree from the University of Athens, Greece in 1966. Dr. Limas was then awarded a scholarship to continue his training at The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. He was appointed Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota in 1975and was promoted to Full Professor in 1980. Dr. Limas received numerous grants and awards for his innovative research on the metabolism of the heart and became internationally known and esteemed by his colleagues. He had a unique personality, combining an extreme intelligence with the kindest of souls. He was hard working, modest, pleasant, and a loving husband. Most of all he was a real Christian throughout his life.
