Cora Sarmiento Santos was known to many people, a loved one, a friend and someone special. To Family and friends who knew her best, she will be remembered as a very exceptional person who had an infectious smile.
Mommy or Nanay Cora as known to all was petitioned by her daughter Elizabeth Durana and came here to the United States on May 5, 1979. Since she arrived here, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law Eleazer Durana.
Not long after her arrival, she got bored staying at home and asked her children that she wanted to work. Then she got a job in several high-tech companies in the Silicon Valley. She worked from 1979-1993 and after 14 years she retired and started traveling with her daughter and son-in-law.
They traveled to different places in the United States and also to Europe. Every year she went home to the Philippines and visited her family there.
Nanay Cora was blessed with two children Elizabeth Durana married to Eleazar Durana and Robert Santos (Deceased). She has three grandchildren Moppet, Nelson and ER and two great grandchildren Reign and Colin. Nanay Cora took in an adoptive family in Fremont SDA Church and treated them as her very own family, The Mostrales family: Minerva, Ulysses, Ray, Uly and Dyan.
