Craig Colgin MacCurdy was surrounded by his loving family when he peacefully passed away at the age of 56 in his home in Sugar Land, Texas on Monday, October 10th, 2016.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, John H. MacCurdy, Sr. and Julie Colgin MacCurdy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Curry MacCurdy; daughter, Megan MacCurdy Brown and husband, Daniel, and Kayla Michelle MacCurdy; grandson, Jake Brown; brother, John MacCurdy, Jr. and wife, Loretta of Charlotte, North Carolina; sister, Julie Dianne MacCurdy of Houston, Texas; mother and father in law, Fred and Jann Curry; sisters in law, Linda Snell and husband, Wally, Mary Sue Harris and husband, Glenn, Marcia Poe and husband, Charlie, Lisa Curry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Craig was born in Waco, Texas on July 31, 1960, moved to the Houston in 1963 then to Missouri City area in 1972. He graduated from Dulles High School in 1979 and briefly attended Alvin Community College. He worked American Surveys, Inc. prior to beginning his twenty five year career with Harris Construction in 1990. Craig enjoyed all things outdoor including cheering Kayla on at softball tournaments and teaching Megan how to shoot skeet. He also enjoyed hunting in the hill country and fishing in Matagorda Bay. Craig will be remembered for his stubbornness and his favorite saying, "Alright, Alright, Alright!"
The memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at The Settegast-Kopf Co Funeral Directors at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas 77478 with a reception to follow the memorial service.
The Honorary Pallbearers Craig had designated were his coworkers at Harris Construction, for whom he often expressed his admiration.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all the love and support they have received during this tough time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Boulevard Houston, Texas 77030.

Carol, I grieve with you and your family over
Craig's passing from this reality to His heavenly Home where there is only Joy and Love and Freedom awaiting him. Craig can now enjoy his passions without the heavy burdens of this life, which is only a vapor.
I honestly believe he can see you and the girls through God's heavenly lens...which is so much MORE than we can even imagine.
I love you sweet one, and just know I will be praying for you as our Lord comforts and blesses you as you continue to "run the race".
