Craig Adkins Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 15, 2010.

Craig O. Adkins, age 40, of Lima, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010 at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus; he fought for 7 days after a car accident on State Route 309. He was born on February 22, 1970 in Logan, West Virginia to Orville and Betty Jane (Oliver) Adkins. His father precedes him in death and his mother survives in Logan, West Virginia. On September 25, 1993 he married Tonia Henderson and she survives in Lima.

Craig was an assembler at Unverferth Manufacturing, Delphos Division. He was previously employed at Koneta Rubber in Wapakoneta.

He is also survived by his children: Devin, age 15 and Dustin, age 9, both of Lima; his siblings: Ronald (Lynn) Adkins, Steve Adkins and Terry Adkins all of Logan, West Virginia; his mother-in-law Wanda J. Henderson of Lima; his father-in-law Dennis (Kim) Henderson of Anderson, Alabama; a sister-in-law Dawn (Jake) Ricker of Cuyahoga Falls; many aunts and uncles and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a brother Michael Adkins, his grandparents and his loving dog and best companion Taz.
Craig will ride forever in the hearts of his many "Biker" friends who have come to know him as their Brother. He will be remembered as being a man who never knew a stranger, was always there to be called on, and was willing to help in any way he could. Craig was a loving father who wanted the very best for his sons and whose legacy will live on through them. The family will forever be grateful to Melissa Joseph who was first on the scene that tragic morning; she will forever be our special "Angel."

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Williams to officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Road. On Wednesday, May 19th following the 1:00 p.m. service a special "Sprit Ride" will escort Craig from the Funeral Home to the Cemetery. The family invites any and all Bikers to ride their Motorcycles in leading the procession of family and friends as we lay our Biker Brother to rest.

Memorial contributions may be made for his children in c/o Tonia Adkins 506 N. Cable Road Lima, Ohio 45805.
