Appleby, Craig, former U.S. Marine of Sturgis, S.D. formerly of Sudbury and Harwichport, passed away suddenly on Sept. 23, 2011. Loving son of Eleanor (Cooke) Appleby-Doran and the late Robert L. Appleby. Father of Robert Appleby Holmes, Victoria Appleby and Parker Appleby. Beloved brother of Diane Holmes of CA, Hollis Stevens of South Weymouth and Robin Shaw of Harwichport. Dear nephew of Ruth Steeves of NH. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Funeral service at St. Elizabeth Church, One Morse Road, Sudbury, Sat. Oct. 8 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. The family will receive visitors at the Duckett – J. S. Waterman & Sons, Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Rd., (Rt. 20) SUDBURY, Fri. Oct. 7, 5-8 PM. Donations in memory of Craig may be made to your favorite charity.

Dearest Appleby family -- Although I hadn't seen Craig since leaving Sudbury in 1971, I'll always remember him as the sweet kid next door -- just like many of these specials photos show him. My thoughts today are with you and Craig, and I'm sorry for your loss.

My how the years have past. Never would any of us expected to see the notice of Craig. How close we all use to be - so many years and not so far a distance to have lost such touch. My heart goes out to your family. Years of memories. God bless all of you.

To my one and only Uncle, I still can't believe your gone..I cry a river evey day wondering why god took you from us way to soon. I looked up to as and older brother and that will never change.I will never forget our times together,fishing at the end of the jetti,bringing me and my best friend riding at the sandpits,the Korean flag you gave me when you returned home,this could go on and on.
