Crum Bates, Jr., 63, of Montgomery, passed away at a local hospital on February 24, 2012. He was a Marine who served his country proudly. Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Brenda Louise Parker Bates; sons, Michael Wayne Bates and Mark Anthony (Michelle) Bates; daughters, Frankie Elaine (Joseph) Luster and April Marie (Matthew) Luster; and son, David Allen (Kellie) Bates; as well as 12 grandchildren; Dillon, Summer, Justin, Joseph, Nicklous, Parker, Lindsay, Chase, Connor, Hunter, Daniel and Margaret. Pallbearers will be Kevin Ray, Joseph M. Luster, Jr., Dillon Bates, Justin Bates, Matthew C. Luster, III, Jason Paul Evans and William Mack Bates, Jr. A visitation and reception will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home on Monday, February 27, 2012 from 5pm – 7pm with the funeral service on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 2pm. Burial will follow with military honors being rendered at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery.

Hey Buddy you sure will be missed so much by so many ...I can still rememeber being little and beging for the girls to stay the nite with me but I ended up spending the night there with them .......I will always remember you sitting in YOUR chair reading your books (over and over )...If I ever needed anything you always tried to help me just as much as one of your own kids I could always call you and ask about car parts are anything and you would help ....You have knowen simnce I was born and I have been best friends with you daughter since then so I feel close to you as a daughter also .You always gave me good advice on anything and I will miss that so much ..You rest now and dont worry about Brenda we will take care of her ..Tell my Gram and Nanny hey from us all ...
