Dolores F. (LaPierre) Beausoleil, 85, daughter of the late Valmore M. and Edmaer (Guy) LaPierre, and loving wife of Norman D. Beausoleil, Sr., of Millbury, MA, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 5, 2016, surrounded by loving family and friends.
Born on June 8, 1931, in Putnam, CT, she was raised in Putnam, CT and Lima, Peru by her mother and father until age 10 when she lost her mother in a tragic accident. She returned to Putnam and was raised by her maternal Grandmother Josephine (Guy) Musso. She attended Putnam High School, class of 1949, and a year at Annhurst College in Woodstock, CT. Then, one day in the spring of 1950, while standing in the kitchen of a neighbor, she met the man with whom she would spend the rest of her life. She had him with hello. Married on March 26, 1951, in Putnam, CT, she began a journey through life filled with love and never ending devotion to the one and only man she ever kissed. Through the following 65 years she loved, nurtured, raised and cared for 6 children as their lives travelled through Putnam, Bainbridge, MD, back to Putnam, to Westborough, MA, and once again back to Putnam. With retirement they moved to Fort Myers, FL, and then once again returned to Connecticut before finally settling in Millbury, MA.
Dolores had excellent taste and an eye for quality and put those attributes to good use. During the lean times of raising a family, she honed her skills as a clothier and hand made many of the outfits her children wore during their early childhood days. She perfected her knitting skills and was still knitting sweaters, socks, and most lovingly, Christmas stockings for every grand and great grandchild and their spouses, and sometimes their pets. Her handmade quilts are still on display in nearly every child's home. During the late 70's and early 80's she owned and operated the Country Girl women's clothing store in Westborough. Fashion was her forte, but generosity and a kind loving heart is her legacy. When she wasn't sewing, knitting or doing needlepoint, you would find her in the kitchen cooking, or in someone's den playing bridge. She did love her afternoons with the ladies!
Predeceased by her daughter Christenna Lawrence, Dolores is survived by her husband Norman, her brothers V. Michael LaPierre and his wife Joan of Longview, WA, and Pierre LaPierre of Moscow, PA, her daughters Denise and her husband Ronald W. Jams of Madisonville, TN, Suzanne and her husband Geoff Latsha of Windsor, CT, Roxanne and her husband Fred Turner of Louisville, NE and her sons Norman, Jr. and his partner Kathleen Gay of St. Petersburg FL, and Geoffrey and his wife Linda Beausoleil of Knoxville, TN. She also leaves 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, with 2 more on their way, and several nieces and nephews.
As she scribbled on a note, one of many she had around the house, there is nothing truer than this: "To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die." Go easy mom, through the gates of paradise, and hold the door open for the rest of us as we come to join you.
Dolores' wishes in death are simple. There will be no calling or visitation hours, and flowers are to be omitted. Donations in her honor may be made to the charity of your choice. After cremation, a Catholic memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 9:00 am, at St. Mark's Church in Sutton, MA. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam, CT, at the convenience of the family.

Mom, it's been a year, and a long one it's been. Dad is doing great but he sure does miss you, he can't wait to see you again :) Lot's of things have happened, some good, some not so good, but all for a reason. Till we meet again, keep that ever watchful eye on us, and don't worry about dad. We've got him till he's back in your arms.

Mom, I hope you had enough, because we didn't have enough of you. I hope you had enough love to surround you in times of need. Enough happy times to balance the many sorrows in your life. Enough grace to bend, and not break, when the winds of change blew your way. And enough pride in your ever growing brood to give you a sense of a life well lived. We are nothing without the strength you've given us all. Much love, Rocky
