Doug served in the U S Navy during World War II. He retired from the City of Aurora as the City Purchasing Agent. He met the challenges of a city that was rapidly growing with diligence and hard work. The employees of the city were like his second family. After retiring in 1988 he enjoyed many wonderful years of travel, golfing, and spending time with his family, whom he loved with all his heart and soul, oh and we can't forget his ice cream. His presence in all our lives will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80236 on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 9:30 am with services rendered by the US Navy and all vet honor guard. Following the service there will be a memorial celebration at Heritage Mountain View, 8101 East Mississippi Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80247, light refreshments, stories and memories of Doug will be enjoyed.
