Daisy Elna Allen, age 87, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away peacefully her sleep at home on Monday January 7, 2012. She was born April 11,1925.

Daisy was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. She retired as an executive secretary from Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute. Daisy volunteered in several community service events

Daisy is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Daisy Butt, 3 older sisters Vivian, Helen, Margaret Butt, one older brother, Oscar Butt.

Daisy is survived by her husband Billy Allen; two sons Dr. William (Melinda) and John (Beverly) Allen; daughter Beth Ann Allen;
Three Grandchildren; dog Maxie Allen, one older sister, Dot Gress, two nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel

Graveside service and Interment will be Thursday at 2:30 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Ted Bennett officiating

Pallbearers Dr. Allen, John Allen, Baker Allen Jr., Dickie Morgan, Boofer Wilkey, Thomas E. Smith, Joe Butt, Abram Smith, Chaz Shuford, John Muse

Honorary pallbearers Charles Thompson and Rafal Pawlowski

In lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions can be made in Daisy's name to the St. Luke United Methodist Church, Dogwood Shop, or the Animal Human Society

Beth, I have fond memories of your mother during the years I worked with her at MBMHI .Later when I brought students to the Bend we would often catch up. She was a really lovely person who, I am sure, will be greatly missed by all. My sympathy to you and your family.
