Dale "Cowboy" Anderson of Crawford left this earth Sunday afternoon, August 5, 2012, at the age of 59 to join his mother and father in Heaven Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Gravens officiating. Interment will follow in Crawford Cemetery under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Cole Funeral Home.

Cowboy, as he was affectionally called, was born January 17, 1953, in Clifton, Texas, the son of the late Wayne and Thelma (Srader) Anderson. He was reared in Crawford and attended school at Kirkwood Wilson and Jefferson in Waco. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Crawford. Cowboy was a fixture at sporting events, city activities and assisted with Meals on Wheels. In July of 2002, Cowboy moved to Westview Manor Nursing Home in McGregor along with his mother. Cowboy was not only a resident at Westview Manor, but he assisted his dear friend and activities director, Bonnie Krause and identified himself as her assistant.

From a very young age, Cowboy attended every fair and rodeo until 2011 where he was known by many of the participants. Cowboy brought great joy and pleasure to many people and will be missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include two brothers, Halbert Anderson and wife Margie of Waco, Marcus Anderson and wife Betty of Temple; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Bonnie Krause and David Zacharias.

For those desiring, the family has suggested Crawford Cemetery Association, First Baptist Church, Crawford Fire Department or the charity of the donor's own choosing for memorial contributions.
