He was always such a wonderful resource man at the Knollwood Garden Center.. and treated everyone as if they were a good friend. His volunteer time in the Beavercreek Fire Service was a great contribution to the community. Such a loss to our community of Beavercreek, his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Dale was my first boss, The day after I turned 16, I applied for a job at Knollwood Garden Center. I reported for work in a few days and was told to "go see that guy over there". That guy was Dale, and he was very kind and reassuring. I told him this was my first job and he really watched out for me (which also meant he caught my mistakes, too). Many years later, I was working with Ellie Home Care, and was given an assignment on Central in Beavercreek. When I walked in, and realized who he was, I started laughing, and haven't stopped laughing since. We had such a good time that I told him that I felt as if I should be paying them. Many was the time that Edna had to rein us in, or we would have stayed up half the night cracking jokes and carrying on. He and I spent Christmas Eve watching a Judy Garland musical; he really enjoyed that. I've been blessed in getting to know the whole family, and am thankful to be able to count Edna Mae and Dale as dear friends.
