Dan Odom, a resident of Headland, died Saturday March 10, 2012, at Flowers Hospital. He was 63. Mr. Odom was born February 1, 1949, in Houston County, Alabama, the son of Mrs. Frances (Culbreth) Odom and the late M. A. Odom. He was a member at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Ebenezer Baptist Church being his home church. He was a loving, dedicated husband, father, and grandfather (Papa). He loved fishing, music, Auburn football, outdoors, photography and family gatherings. Dan Odom was employed at Polyengineering, Inc., Dothan for 31 years where he was Administrative Vice President.
He is preceded in death by his father, M. A. Odom.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Sharon Hughes Odom of Dothan; two sons, Steven Hughes (Kasey) of Malone FL, and Danny Odom (Chasity) of Webb, AL; mother, Frances Culbreth Odom of Dothan; a sister, Terry Odom Walker of Dothan; and two brothers, Dennis Odom (Lynn) of Dothan, and Tim Odom (Cathy) of Dothan; grandchildren, Jessica Hughes, Cody Hughes, Harlee Odom, Sydney Odom; and many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Benjamin Odom, Brandon Odom, Neil Walker, Kris Trawick, Eddie Odom, Randy Odom, Cody Hughes, and Dean Culbreth.
