Daniel (Dan) was born in Alliance, Nebraska, and where he was Baptized in Holy Rosary Catholic Church. At age 2 the family moved to Sterling, Colorado. On January 10, 1967, the day after his 6th birthday, his father, Jim Logan, Sr., suddenly passed away from a heart condition. Dan began school at St. Anthony's Catholic School, and made his First Holy Communion in St. Anthony's Catholic Church at age 8. He, with his siblings,
Sara, Steve, Sam lived in Sterling, Colorado for the next 10 years. Dan eventually earned a General Education Diploma to complete his schooling. While in Sterling, he worked at the local industries. However, in all his years, he developed a growing fascination for trains and locomotive engines. His brother Jim and he moved to Florida in 1978, and there he remained until 2001; while living in the Sunshine State, he began to drive tractor trailers and 18-wheel trucks. In August of 2003, his eldest brother, James Jr. passed away in Orlando, FL. The next move brought Dan to Texas, where he was near his sister, Sara and mother. He died suddenly of diabetic-related complications the evening of April 1, 2014, in Arlington Memorial Hospital, Arlington, TX. Daniel had not married. He is survived by Mary Logan White of Merritt Island, Florida; Sara (Phyllis) Logan Downey of Grand Prairie, Texas; Stephen Logan of Hayden, Colorado; Sam (Clarence) Logan of Guernsey, Wyoming.Daniel was a humble, quiet man with a fierce love for his family and a deep love for his Lord. Daniel walked with the 1st Neo Catechumenate Community, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where he also participated in Celebration of Mass. His hobby of model trains led him to spend hours constructing a model city; and as a true "train buff" he visited the train museums and displays. Visiting the local public library was a favorite pastime, because he loved to read about, of course…trains, and history. His mother, Bella Logan, passed away on October 3, 2013. He was heard commenting that he would be so happy to see her again, "as soon as the Good Lord saw fit to bring him to her". He got his fond wish and followed her within six months. They will both be missed.
