Daniel D. Aitken "Dan" 63, passed away on September 16, 2010. Son of George and Josephine Aitken, he was born in Chicago 1946. Dan battled severe cancer for 3 ½ years. In passing he was surrounded by his loving wife, family and close friends. Dan and his wife are residents of Sun Lakes (Oakwood), AZ of 3 years.

Daniel is preceded by his wife Maria Aitken; step son Ivan, daughter-in-law Pamela and 3 grandchildren Ivan Jr., Miro and Zach.

Dan served in the Army during Vietnam and Cambodia War. Dan attended Chicago Technical College where he received his Bachelor in Architectural Engineering plus advanced course work towards an advanced degree. Majority of his career was spent in Architectural Engineering. Later in life he ventured into Sales and Logistician business as owner and contractor.

Dan was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer, he enjoyed to play card games, and he was a big sports fan especially wrestling and football. He also enjoyed music and as a young boy he played accordion. Dan loved to spend time with his grandchildren to play games, he adored them. Dan built the quite extensive train model for grandchildren to enjoy. It was a big happiness for him to watch the children to admire the moving trains that Grandpa made for them.

Dan will be remembered by all as a gracious and loving husband, stepfather and grandfather who adored his family and friends, had zest for life, and were an enthusiastic traveler who had friends around the country and overseas. Though he will be greatly missed, the love he shared will never end…
