May Heavens blessings attend the family of Dan Brown whom I got to speak to a few minutes by telephone when I visited at Steel Creek Park the evening of April 13th before returning to Capitol Hill in Washington where I now make my home. Dan and I were friends from the time of our first meeting at Steel Creek Park 30 years ago when Dan, Emmet, Claudette and I helped Dick and others put in the water-slide at the Park. We worked hard to get the work done, but we ate well. I remember those steaks that Dan cooked on the grill and I have never since eaten corn-on-the-cob as good as Dan and Dick had taught all of us how best to prepare and cook it just right! I believe Dan had just moved back to Burke County that summer. He was always very kind to me and when I think of him I will always think of his soft-spoken voice. I cannot be with you in person for the service Saturday but be assured that you who are his family and friends will be close to heart as you gather at Mt Zion. Love to all, Roger Sharpe

I didn't realize this was your father Susan, I have seen him I am sure at Steele Creek Park. Thirty years he had a love for people and I am sure he has left many fond memories that can never be taken away. Thank God for all the precious years and time you had together as well as the many lessons learned over the years. May peace and comfort come to your family during this time of separation. :-)
