Daniel R. Brubaker, 83 of Huntington passed away at 11:57 pm on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. Daniel was a 1947 graduate of Huntington High School. He had worked in maintenance for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the American Legion of Van Buren, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #837 of Huntington, Police Athletic League and the National Rifle Association.
He was born on October 14, 1929 in Akron, Indiana, a son of Walter R. and Clara I. (Sorgen) Brubaker.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Moore on February 11, 1949 in Huntington; she preceded him in death on December 23, 1985. He later married Patricia Randolph on December 30, 1988 in Huntington. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a stepson: Steve Randolph of Fort Wayne; a stepdaughter: Judith (Jesse) Johnson of Huntington; three sisters: Shirley (DeWayne) Glass of North Manchester; Linda DeHaven of Huntington and Mary Ellen (Douglas) Davis of Defiance, OH.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two stepsons.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Ray Scribner officiating.
Interment will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made out to Cancer Services of Huntington County, PAL or Huntington Humane Shelter all in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.

Pat and family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. I always enjoyed seeing Dan at Owen's North when I was working. He was such a nice man. I will miss seeing him.

Grandpa, words cant explain how much i miss you, even though we were far apart in miles doesnt mean our hearts wernt together with love, god had bigger plans for you, and we all know gods arms is the safest place to be, he will make sure your very taken care of. tell grandma and grandpa paul i said hi and i miss them so dearly. ill see you again one day grandpa, rest in paradise<3 im so glad that mom got to see you before you passed, and she got to show you a picture of me and honey, the bear you got me the second i was born :) i still have him and his new home is right on my night stand next to my bed where i can see him every night.. i love you.
