Danny DelBianco died following a rigorous training exercise in California on Tuesday April 5, while pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a Navy SEAL.
Danny was born in Arlington, Virginia in 1992 to Steven and Elaine DelBianco. He leaves behind his parents, his siblings, John and Lena, his extended family, and the love of his life – Mrika Kadeli.
From an early age, Danny talked about becoming a Navy SEAL. Earlier this year, Danny wrote this answer to the question, "Why do I want to become a SEAL?"
I want to be a part of a type-A community.
I want to feel like I belong because I've earned the right to belong.
I want to do something special.
My life won't feel complete unless I do this.
Every time I read about or see pictures of SEALs, I feel motivated
The experience will shape and define the rest of my life.
I want to do something exciting and feel like I'm actually living.
I want to be pushed to my limits and find what I'm capable of.
All of this is elevated by the fact that I'm defending a country that i believe is the best on earth for providing a safe environment full of opportunity and personal liberty.
Danny attended Trinity School at Meadow View in Falls Church, Virginia. He then graduated with honors from the University of Southern California in 2015. Even before his USC graduation ceremony, Danny enlisted in the U.S. Navy.
Throughout college Danny worked-out relentlessly, enabling him to perform at the top of his class in Navy boot camp and SEAL training. His Navy buddies revered Danny for his abilities, his drive, and for helping others through their own challenges. They all talked about Danny's high integrity in doing things the right way – not the easy way. His legacy to the Navy and SEAL program is that Danny has inspired those around him to give greater efforts in the pursuit of excellence.
We will forever remember Danny for the determination, gentleness, and love he carried in his heart.
Please share your fond and funny memories of Danny, in our [Guest Book]
A celebration of Danny's life will be held on Saturday April 16 at The Falls Church Episcopal, 166 E. Broad Street (Route 7), Falls Church, Virginia. Condolences welcome from 10:00 - 10:50am, with service at 11:00 and reception to follow.

Military Mom
As a proud military mother who's always worried about the often-extreme demands of military training and daily operations, my heart aches with yours over the loss of your beautiful, loving son. Danny pursued his dreams, excelling and inspiring others with his grit, determination, patriotism and compassion. May he rest in peace and may God grant you peace knowing that Danny accomplished so much in his all too short life. Blessings be with you.

As a Trojan '76 and retired USAF LtCol (Intel) with a son who didn't make it through Hell Week, I feel a kinship with the DelBianco family. Son went on to Navy Dive School and is now out with a career in defense contracting (pgm mgr). He could have been Daniel, but for the grace of God. God Bless you all. Ned C

My daughter is Navy, I myself am an AF Veteran and I want to express my thanks to you for giving so freely of your son and allowing him to follow his heart. There is nothing more rewarding. That seeing a child succeed at what they've dreamed of. There is also nothing more heart wrenching than finding out that your child has lost their life. I pray you receive the peace that passes understanding and the peace that he had in his life doing what he loved. May God Bless you all with Fair Winds and Following Seas.
