Daniel Milton Fischer, Sr., born May 30, 1933 in Houston, TX, passed away on April 28, 2012 in Kingwood, TX.
Dan was a native Houstonian and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1951. He started working for Humble Oil on March 15th, 1952 and married the love of his life, Kathryn Fischer on February 16, 1952. Later, he worked for Exxon and then Exxon/ Mobil. Dan graduated with an Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology in 1962 and continued to do further studies at the University of Houston.
After 41 successful years at Exxon/Mobil as a construction superintendent, he retired in 1992 to further his interest in loved hobbies: fishing, golf, wind chimes, and art work with exotic wood creations (exoticwoodencreations.com). Dan loved golf and fishing, and was a part of Bass Masters. He began making wind chimes and crafts that led into woodworking. He studied with Lloyd Chaney, a master wood-turner. He then joined art leagues in parts of Texas, had many showings in art galleries, and joined art shows. He won many ribbons and honors at juried shows.
Above all in Dan's life was his relationship with Jesus Christ. He served as Deacon in Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God in Baytown. Then he was an elder at Church in the City, Houston, TX. He was also an elder in the Kingwood Vineyard and Spring Vineyard church plants from Church in the City. He served with Mike Barber's Prison Ministry and Alpha Prison Ministry. He also started a Bible study while working at Exxon/Mobil that lasted 8 years.
Dan and Kathryn celebrated 60 years of marriage this past February. He is loved deeply by his three children, Dan Jr., David and Pam, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren (and one on the way). Allie and Clarence Fischer, along with his sister Doris Ann, greeted Dan in Heaven.
