1932-2013
Daniel D. Flowers, the soul mate of Nita Flowers passed away January 20, 2013 at his home.
Daniel and his wife Nita Flowers would have been married 61 years on March 1, 2013. He graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School in 1951. Daniel was retired from the Pensacola News Journal as a Mailroom Supervisor where he worked for over 42 years.
He was preceded in death by parents Raymond and Margaret Flowers, in-laws John and Nora Evans; three sisters Vivian Roselle, Edna Cutts, Margaret Pendo and six brothers Ollie, Lurie, Robert, Sherman, Fred and Donald; brother-in-laws Edward Evans, Pat Cutts; sister-in-law Mavis Flowers and son-in-law Kenneth Gardner.
He is survived by his loving wife Nita Flowers, daughter Kathy Flowers Gardner, grandson Shane Aldridge (Nicole), great granddaughter Savannah Aldridge, brother Eugene Flowers, brother-in-laws Ronnie D. Evans, Edward Pendo, John Roselle, sister-in-laws Sylvia Flowers, Betty Flowers, his godson Nate Briggs and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 140 West Government Street, Pensacola, FL. Celebrant will be Father Pat Foley. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Afterwards, family and friends are invited to meet at St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Hall.
Pallbearers will be nephews Merrill Cutts, Tom Flowers, Jim French, Tim French, Damian French and Matthew French.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Church Building Fund or Hospice of Pensacola.

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Daniel from 1984 until his retirement. I always admired him. He was a great person and supervisor. We missed him when he retired. I know he is at peace with his family. Farewell Daniel.
