Daniel Morgan Moats, 70, of Kearneysville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 8, 2014 in Berkeley Medical Center. Born December 6, 1943 in Morgantown, WV, he was the son of the late Neal and Anna Margaret (Riggs) Moats. He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of VFW Post #896 in Martinsburg. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Morgantown, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Curtis Frye, and a brother, Benjamin Moats. Daniel Morgan Moats, 70, of Kearneysville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 8, 2014 in Berkeley Medical Center.
Born December 6, 1943 in Morgantown, WV, he was the son of the late Neal and Anna Margaret (Riggs) Moats.
He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of VFW Post #896 in Martinsburg.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Morgantown, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Curtis Frye, and a brother, Benjamin Moats.
He is survived by his wife, Carole (Byers) Frye Moats; a son, Daniel Moats, and his wife Sylvia, of S.C.; a daughter, Diana Marsh, and her husband Jeff, of TN; two step-sons, Kenneth Frye, and his wife Cathy, of Martinsburg, and Tony Frye, and his wife Wanda, of Martinsburg; two step-daughters, Charlotte Shank, and her husband John, of Martinsburg, and Tammy Johnson, and her husband Tony, of Martinsburg; one sister, Anne Williams, and her husband Art, of Iowa.
He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friendsTuesday from 6-8 PM at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11 AM in Rosedale Funeral Home with Dr. G. Edward Grove officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greensburg UMC, 2171 Greensburg Road, Martinsburg, WV 25404.
